There are two main tasks you can perform with RememberMe, an application developed by Capp-Ware Solutions and offered to Windows users for the awesome price of free. The first thing you can do is securely store all your passwords – as you would expect from a password manager, RememberMe stores your passwords in an encrypted and password-protected database. The second thing you can do with RememberMe is generate passwords. If you can’t think of a password, let RememberMe help you out. With one click it will generate a good password for you.

RememberMe can be installed on anything from Windows 98 up to Windows 7. To install the application, you will have to download a 1.8MB executable, run it, and then click through the instructions presented by a setup wizard. When you’re done and you launch RememberMe, you will have to create a profile before you can log in. Creating a profile is a very simple process: you need only type in a username and a password.

To the left of the application’s interface you will see two buttons: Manage Categories and Manage Locations. Next up there’s a dropdown that lists all your categories – select one and its entries will be presented as a list beneath the dropdown. Select an entry and more info about it will be presented in the panel to the right.

RememberMe comes with a built-in set of categories: Bank, Business, Email, Forum, Games, and Personal. By clicking on the aforementioned Manage Categories button, you can create new categories and you can delete existing ones. When adding a location you will be invited to select a category, enter a location, username, password, link, and a comment.

RememberMe also features a handy password generator. Just select how long you want the password to be, click a button, and RememberMe will generate a secure password for you.

If you need to get a handy overview of all your passwords, check out the Display All Passwords function. It will present all the entries in the RememberMe database – the passwords will be unmasked and displayed as plain text.

As mentioned above, RememberMe is a free application.

Easily create a passwords database, efficiently manage the passwords, and securely store them with RememberMe, a free tool from Capp-Ware Solutions.

Pros

RememberMe works with any Windows edition. Easily create a profile; access to the application is password protected. Use RememberMe to create and manage a passwords database (the database is encrypted). There’s a handy password generator and a handy Display All Passwords function. RememberMe is free.

Cons

None that I could think of.
